Safety Systems, SIL & PL

Safety Control Systems in the machinery industry sector are specified by two international standards. IEC 62061 deals with SIL, and ISO 13849-1 deals with PL. Both standards are harmonized under Machinery Directive and all machine manufacturers have a free choice to decide which standard would like to use.

We have expertise in both standards, a Functional Safety certificate from a third party (TÜV SÜD), and participate in standardization work when the new edition needs to be published.

We assist in the design of your safety control systems, and we perform reliability calculations of the achieved SIL- and PL with the SISTEMA calculations tool.
